  1. First time I saw clouds like that, was in Panamint Valley, in the Mojave Desert. Great banks of these clouds were over the Panamint Mountains, and the range to the west, and the wind was blowing hard. It was, as the song says, a "dark and windy day". They were so strangely shaped, and stationary, yet I could see a powerful wind blew into them. They condensed into the wind as afast as the wind blew. The whole evening was eerie. When I heard "Ghost Riders in the Sky" for the first time, it remined me of that eerie sky.
