Did She Lie Or Not To Buy The Gun? If She Did Should She Be Prosecuted?

  1. She did question the metal question and answered by the way the salesman explained it to her. But the big argument is the availability to people with mental problems, which she seems to be the poster child for. I also know that the flood of applications is beyond everyone being check the way they need to be. Otherwise it could take a year to get a clearance. I thing that her name should be put on a watch list and her firearm confiscated and the store owner fined, if not loss of licenses, for the way he explained the form. I totally believe in the 1st and 2nd amendment, but there needs to be some degree of safety involved.

    1. How did the shop owner misexplain the form? When you stick a "but" in your sentence it means you don't "totally believe" in what you are talking about. "Watch lists" have no place in America. PERIOD

    2. IMNSHFO, If she can't be trusted with a gun, she can't be trusted with that 3000 pound murder machine she was driving. If she's not trustworthy, why is she walking free? Watch lists are a bullshit way for the government to keep a eye on the sheep. Most people with mental illness are harmless, to themselves and others. The only time mental illness comes up is when some whack job shoots up a theater or a elementary school.

  2. It would depend on why she was kept 8 days. The instructions on the Form 4473 say "A formal commitment by a court, board, commission or other lawful authority". It also lists exceptions to that prohibition. So, we don't have enough evidence to say if she lied or now, but I in absence of other info, I would guess the sale was legal. She might need to check state law as well.
